Hiroshima University is a national institution established in Hiroshima, the world’s first atomic bombed city in human history. Based on its founding principle of “a single unified university, free and pursuing peace”, HU has contributed to the creation of a diversified, free and peaceful global community as an exceptional institution of learning in the fields of education, research, medical services, and social contribution.
Comprising 12 schools, 5 graduate schools, a university hospital, and 11 attached schools, HU is one of the largest and most comprehensive universities in Japan.
HU intends to produce the next generation of talented individuals who will contribute to the well-being of humanity, by establishing a worldwide research and education center which will implement “Science for Sustainable Development” to play a role in creating a global, diversified, free, and peaceful society.
