University of Tsukuba JV-Campus (1-1-1 Tennodai, Tsukuba-shi, Ibaraki) (“JV-Campus”) as manager handles the personal information of User collected and used, etc. by JV-Campus as follows when a User of the JV-Campus Platform uses the Service.
Unless otherwise set out, the terminology used in this Privacy Policy has the same meaning as the terminology defined in the JV-Campus Terms of Use (https://www.jv-campus.org/en/term-uf-use.php) (the “Terms of Use”).
This Privacy Policy takes precedence with respect to the use of the Service in the event of any contradiction or inconsistency with any other privacy policy or rules or terms, etc. of JV-Campus specifying its policy for the protection of personal information.

  1. Definition
    1. JV-Campus Platform

      JV-Campus is the domain administered and operated to provide the Service.

    2. JV-Campus

      JV-Campus is the operating entity for the JV-Campus Platform. Specifically, the operating entity for JV-Campus is the University of Tsukuba.

    3. Content

      Content is the lecture footage, lecture materials, and all other information provided or attempted to be provided to User by the Content Provider as set forth in Article 2(4) via the JV-Campus Platform.

    4. The Service

      The Service is the platform service provided by JV-Campus to User and the Content Provider.

    5. User

      User is a person who agrees to these Terms of Use, applies to use the Service, and whose application is approved by JV-Campus.

  2. Application

    This Privacy Policy applies when User uses the Service provided by JV-Campus.

    Please carefully read this Privacy Policy together with the Terms of Use and give your consent before using the Service. JV-Campus deems a User who starts using the Service to have understood this Privacy Policy, which explains the collection, use, provision and retention of personal information of User.

    Please see 10. Inquiries for questions and inquiries about this Privacy Policy.

  3. Collection of Personal Information

    JV-Campus may collect the following personal information of User in order to achieve the purpose set out in 4. Use of Personal Information, etc. Personal information of User collected by JV-Campus may include information provided directly by User, information relating to the use of the Service by User and information collected from third parties.

    3. Information relating to Use, etc. of the Service

      Commercial information (usage history, etc.) and Internet and other electronic network behavioral information, such as

      • Use, purchase of Content, viewing and Content progress for the Service, submission results of tests and reports, and other information relating to the use of the Service by User through the Service, and information relating to transactions of the Service
      • Identity verification documents (meaning copies of a student ID, staff ID, driver’s license, health insurance card, resident card, etc.) and information contained in such documents for identity verification to issue certificates of completion, etc. or as required by law, etc.
    4. Information on Information Communication Terminals and Information Collected Using Cookies, etc.

      When User uses the Service, connects to advertising or Content relating to the Service or enables Cookies, etc. (including web beacons, UID, LTI and other technology, simply, “Cookies, etc.”), JV-Campus automatically collects information relating to the PC, cell phone terminal, tablet or other information communication terminal used by User and information through Cookies, etc.

      Collected information:

      Behavioral information and location information from the Internet and other electronic networks

      Example:

      • System information collected from terminals (information such as OS, source IP address, FQDN, user-agent, etc.)
      • Identifiers, etc. collected on system linkage such as LTI linkage (see LTI linkage page (https://www.jv-campus.org/en/lti.php) for details about collected information)
    5. Information Collected from Third Parties

      When User uses the Service, JV-Campus may, to the extent necessary and permitted by applicable laws and regulations, collect credit information and information, etc. necessary to prevent and take measures against fraud, etc. by requesting third parties to provide information on User or from publicly available information. If User has consented, JV-Campus may collect or receive personal information on User from third parties based on such consent.

      JV-Campus does not intentionally collect or use sensitive information of User such as race, creed, social status, medical history, criminal history, or that User has been a victim of crime, etc. (the “Sensitive Information”), unless such information is indispensable for the provision of the Service or permitted by laws and regulations. JV-Campus will immediately delete any sensitive information that JV-Campus has unintentionally obtained, or User has provided of User’s own accord.

      Identifier, protected characteristics (name, date of birth, gender, etc.), commercial information (usage history, etc.) and behavioral information and location information from the Internet and other electronic networks.

  4. Usage of Personal Information, etc.
    1. Personal Information Usage Purpose

      JV-Campus uses personal information for the following purposes.

      1. To provide login-functions, etc.

        JV-Campus provides the function for User to log in to an account, and uses personal information to manage, etc. User information.

      2. To analyze the status of User’s attendance, etc., to manage course progress and evaluate educational progress, etc.

        JV-Campus uses personal information to analyze the course progress, frequency of attendance, and duration of attendance of User to manage course progress and evaluate educational progress, etc. of courses taken by User. This information may be provided to the university User is affiliated with.

      3. To report results

        JV-Campus uses personal information report results of platform usage and behavioral analytics. Any personal information that could identify an individual will not be included in such a report.

      4. To propose Content and perform advertising, promotion and marketing to User

        JV-Campus uses personal information to propose Content and perform advertising, promotion and marketing to User based on analyses of the User’s course enrollment status.

      5. To communicate, etc. with User

        JV-Campus uses personal information to give notices and communications, etc. to User.

    2. Legal Basis for Use of Personal Information

      JV-Campus is legally permitted to handle personal information in the following cases.

      • With the consent of User (User may withdraw consent at any time)
      • It is necessary for JV-Campus to perform its contractual obligations for the Service
      • It is necessary for JV-Campus to comply with its legal obligations, such as obtaining User’s identity verification documents to satisfy money-laundering prevention obligations
      • It is necessary to secure the legitimate interests of JV-Campus, such as understanding the usage of the Service by User to improve services, or conduct marketing aimed at User
      • It is necessary to protect the material interests of User or another natural person
    3. Retention of Personal Information

      JV-Campus sets a retention period for User’s personal information within the scope necessary for its usage purpose, and at the end of the retention period, or once the usage purpose has been achieved, deletes, destroys or irreversibly anonymizes the personal information by an appropriate method without delay.

  5. Provision or Sharing of Personal Information with Third Parties, etc.
    1. Provision or sharing of personal information with third parties

      JV-Campus provides and shares personal information of User with third parties as set out below.

      1. Recipient: Business operators and other corporations or organizations providing Content using an Individual Institution Box(*) (“Individual Institution Box User Business Operators”)

        (*) An Individual Institution Box is an area installed in the JV-Campus Platform in which Individual Institution Box User Business Operators can allow User to use Content.

        Provided personal information:

        • Information to identify User: account ID (email address), name, date of birth, affiliated university, etc. (if necessary to issue certificates of completion)
        • Information relating to Content usage: viewing and progress of Content provided by Individual Institution Box User Business Operators to User, submission results such as test and reports, confirmation of grade management such as grades and course completion, and other information necessary for grade management
      2. Recipient: Business operators and other corporations and organizations that are contracted by the JV-Campus to provide Content to a Strategic Package Box (*)

        (*) This is an online lecture package comprising Content, live streams and other related services provided by JV-Campus

        Provided personal information:

        • Information to identify User: account ID (email address), name, date of birth, affiliated university, etc. (if necessary to issue certificates of completion)
        • Information relating to Content usage: Service usage, purchase of Content, viewing and progress, submission results for tests, reports, etc., confirmation of grade management such as grades and course completion, and other information necessary for grade management.
      3. Recipient: Business operators and other corporations and organizations using a Strategic Package Box (“Strategic Package Box User Business Operators”)

        Provided personal information:

        • Account ID (email address)
        • If the Strategic Package Box User Business Operator is a university or other educational institution: information necessary to identify User within the school such as user name and educational institution, course and year at affiliated university, etc.
        • If the Strategic Package Box User Business Operator is a corporation: information necessary to confirm that User has usage authority, such as User’s name
        • Information relating to Content usage: Service usage, purchase of Content, viewing and progress, submission results of tests, reports, etc., confirmation of grade management such as grades and course completion, and other information necessary for grade management.
      4. Recipient: Universities or other educational institutions that link accounts through LTI linkage (*) (immerse U (Kansai University), etc.)

        Provided personal information:

        • Information to identify enrollee: account ID (email address), some information associated with the account saved at JV-Campus, enrolled course name

    2. Provision and Sharing, etc. based on Laws and Regulations, etc.

      In addition to (1), JV-Campus may provide User personal information to third parties as follows.

      • Under laws and regulations
      • Receives a request for disclosure from a law enforcement agency or administrative agency with due authority, or an agency or body, etc. equivalent to these
      • Is necessary to protect the life, body or property or credibility of a person, etc., or has justifiable grounds for the provision of personal information
    3. Other

      In the event JV-Campus sells or transfers some or all its business, User personal information may be transferred to the buyer or acquirer of the business as part of the transaction. In such event, the usage purpose of User personal information may not be changed without the consent of User.

  6. User Rights

    Certain rights may be recognized for the User’s own personal information, including the following rights based on laws and regulations.

    • Right to access personal information: right to request access to information about User personal information, such as personal information categories, handling purposes, and other information set out in applicable laws and regulations
    • Right to amend personal information: right to amend inaccurate personal information
    • Right to erase personal information: right to request the erasure of personal information of User collected by JV-Campus
    • Right to restrict the use of personal information
    • Right to file an objection to the use of personal information: right to file an objection for an aspect of handling of User personal information, such as profiling or other handling based on applicable laws and regulations depending on the circumstances
    • Data portability: right to receive and send to third parties personal data in a usable electronic format
    • Understand the handling of personal information: the right to check the collection source, the purpose of collecting and providing it to a third party, the contents of the retained information and the details of third parties to whom the information is provided
    • Freedom to exercise rights: User is able to feely exercise its rights, and JV-Campus will not refuse to provide products or services on the basis purely of User exercising its rights.

    Please contact us in accordance with 9. Inquiries for inquiries as to whether the following rights apply, or if you wish to exercise such rights. User may also exercise such rights through an authorized agent in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Written permission must be given to such authorized agent.

    If requested by User, JV-Campus may perform identity verification based on already collected personal information of User, as well as request the submission of other information for the purpose of identity verification.

    JV-Campus may also request the submission of additional information for the purpose of appropriately handling requests from User.

    Please contact JV-Campus if there is any change in User information or User information held by JV-Campus is inaccurate, in order to update or amend User information.

    Rights of User based on applicable laws and regulations are not absolute, and JV-Campus may not be able to grant a request from User if there are grounds under applicable laws and regulations.

    The provision of personal information by User to JV-Campus is made in principle at the volition of User. Failure to provide personal information (including cases where personal information is deleted or its usage is restricted at User’s request) may result in disadvantages, such as some or all functions provided by the Service not working, etc. depending on the type of personal information.

  7. Overseas Transfer

    JV-Campus may transfer User personal information to countries that do not have equivalent personal information protection laws to the country User resides in. As required by applicable laws and regulations, JV-Campus transfers information after taking appropriate protection measures (contractual guarantees, etc.) to ensure User personal information is sufficiently protected. Please contact JV-Campus in accordance with 10. Inquiries to check the details of such protection measures.

  8. Security Measures

    JV-Campus complies with applicable laws and regulations and handles personal information under a high level of security in order to prevent unauthorized access and leaks of User personal information, maintain the accuracy of personal information and appropriately destroy personal information if required. JV-Campus encrypts communications when it collects or transfers personal information, restricts access to stored personal information, and only permits persons necessary to perform services to handle it. JV-Campus conducts periodic reviews of the above practices to ensure that its safeguards are properly implemented and remain appropriate.

  9. Amendment to this Privacy Policy

    JV-Campus may from time to time amend this Privacy Policy as necessary to respond to changes in laws and regulations and out of business necessity, and display such amendments, etc. on its website. We ask User to thoroughly check the contents of the latest Privacy Policy after such amendment, etc. as displayed on our website.

Terms of Use

  1. Applicability of Terms of Use
    1. These Terms of Use shall apply to a User of the JV-Campus Platform operated by JV-Campus when that User uses the Platform Service.
    2. User is deemed to have consented to these Terms of Use when it accesses the JV-Campus Platform and applies for the Platform Service.
  2. Definitions

    The terminology in these Terms of Use is defined as follow.

    1. JV-Campus

      JV-Campus is the operating entity for the JV-Campus Platform. Specifically, the operating entity for JV-Campus is the University of Tsukuba.

    2. JV-Campus Platform

      JV-Campus Platform is the domain administered and operated by JV-Campus to provide the Platform Service.

    3. Content

      Content is the lecture footage, lecture materials, and all other information provided or attempted to be provided to User by the Content Provider via the JV-Campus Platform.

    4. Content Provider

      The Content Provider is the party that provides Content to User via the JV-Campus Platform.

    5. Damage, etc.

      Damage, etc. is damage, loss, or expense irrespective of whether they result from a demand from a third party, including reasonable attorneys’ fees.

    6. Antisocial Forces, etc.

      Antisocial Forces, etc. are organized crime groups, organized crime group members, persons who have been an organized crime group member in the last five years, quasi-members of organized crime groups, organized crime group affiliated enterprises, corporate racketeers, etc., political racketeering organizations, criminal organizations specialized in intellectual crimes, or other similar parties.

    7. The Platform Service

      The Platform Service is the platform service provided by JV-Campus to the User and the Content Provider.

    8. The Agreement

      The Agreement is the agreement executed between User and JV-Campus in order to use the Platform Service and all other agreements (including these Terms of Use), individually or all collectively.

    9. User

      User is a person who agrees to these Terms of Use, applies to use the Platform Service, and whose application is approved by JV-Campus.

    10. Use Registration Applicant

      Use Registration Applicant is a person who wishes to become a User of the Platform Service.

  3. Use Registration
    1. Use Registration Applicant shall understand and agree to these Terms of Use, and complete the user registration procedure separately established by JV-Campus.
    2. In the event that Use Registration Applicant is a minor, adult ward, person under curatorship, or person under assistance, it is necessary to secure the agreement of the statutory agent, guardian, curator, or assistant with authority to consent (however, only in the event that agreement to these Terms of Use is an action that requires the consent of the curator or assistant).
    3. When Use Registration Applicant’s application is approved via a method separately established by JV-Campus, Use Registration Applicant shall become a User and the Agreement between JV-Campus and User shall take effect.
    4. If JV-Campus determines that one or more of the following items is applicable, it may reject Use Registration Applicant’s application:
      1. Use Registration Applicant is already a User;
      2. Use Registration Applicant violated these Terms of Use in the past and membership was cancelled;
      3. A false statement, incorrect statement, or omission was made during the User registration process;
      4. Use Registration Applicant is a minor, adult ward, person under curatorship, or person under assistance, the agreement of the statutory agent, guardian, curator, or assistant with authority to consent is necessary, but such agreement was not obtained;
      5. Use Registration Applicant is not a natural person; or
      6. JV-Campus otherwise determines that Use Registration Applicant’s registration is inappropriate.
  4. ID and Password
    1. After giving its approval as set forth in Article 3, JV-Campus shall issue to User an ID and password for use of the Platform Service.
    2. Only the User itself may use of the ID.
    3. User shall store the ID and password issued by JV-Campus with the due care of a prudent manager.
    4. JV-Campus may deem all operations, requests, etc. made through the ID issued to User to be operations, requests, etc. made by the User itself. User shall bear responsibility for all operations, requests, etc. made through the ID issued to it.
    5. If User learns that its ID was used without authorization, User shall immediately notify JV-Campus. In this event, JV-Campus may take necessary measures such as temporarily suspending the use of the relevant ID.
  5. Notification of Changes
    1. In the event that there are changes to the information provided when registering for the Platform Service, User shall promptly make notification of the changes via the method prescribed by JV-Campus.
    2. Even if User suffers a disadvantage due to a failure to provide notification as set forth in the previous paragraph, JV-Campus shall bear no liability for it.
  6. Equipment, etc.

    User shall prepare communications devices, software, and other equipment, etc. necessary to use the Platform Service at its own expense and responsibility. User shall connect to the Platform Service via the Internet at its own expense and responsibility.

  7. Provided Service

    JV-Campus shall provide the Platform Service to User through the JV-Campus Platform.

  8. Granting of Credit, etc.

    User understands and acknowledges that JV-Campus only provides the Platform Service and cannot grant credit, credentials, etc. to User for using Content provided by a Content Provider via the Platform Service.

    The granting of credit, credentials, etc. to User is regulated by the agreements and other relationships between User and the university, corporation, or other organization that provides the relevant Content. JV-Campus has no involvement in it and shall bear no responsibility for it.

  9. Payment
    1. User shall pay to JV-Campus the usage fee for the Platform Service as specified by JV-Campus by the date determined by the Content Provider.
    2. In the event that there is a change to the registered payment method or a change to a different payment method, User shall notify JV-Campus without delay.
  10. Prohibitions
    1. User may not take the following actions in using the Platform Service:
      1. Unauthorized use of the ID and password (including, but not limited to, allowing a third party to use them without the prior approval of JV-Campus);
      2. Using or providing harmful programs such as computer viruses through or in relation to the Platform Service;
      3. Accessing the Platform Service using automated means (robots, botnets, scrapers, etc.);
      4. Distorting user engagement measurement results or causing a third party to distort them;
      5. Using the Content for purposes that are for profit or not personal, such as an on-screen presentation of Content for a non-exclusive group of persons or a large group of persons (except for cases in which the Content Provider explicitly agrees to the action or the action is permitted by laws and regulations);
      6. Spam activity such as the following:
        1. Consecutively posting identical or similar text in an area of the Platform Service available for posting;
        2. Posting lists of multiple irrelevant or weakly relevant phrases, significantly long text, or large volumes of text in an area of the Platform Service available for posting; and
        3. Consecutively posting identical URLs in an area of the Platform Service available for posting.
      7. Reproduction such as recording video or audio of Content or taking screenshots, mirrored streaming, public transmission such as posting reproduced Content to video sharing sites, and other actions that constitute or are likely to constitute infringement of an author’s moral rights or copyright (except for cases in which the author or copyright holder explicitly agrees to the action or the action is permitted by laws and regulations);
      8. Actions that constitute or are likely to constitute infringement of a third party’s property, privacy, or image rights;
      9. Actions that discriminate against or defame a third party, or damage the reputation or credibility of a third party;
      10. Criminal activity or activity that promotes or is likely to promote criminal activity;
      11. Actions related to sex-related business, religion, politics, or sales;
      12. Actions that violate laws and regulations, these Terms of Use, or public policy;
      13. Actions that obstruct the operation of the Platform Service;
      14. Actions that damage the credibility or property of JV-Campus;
      15. Actions that cause disadvantage to JV-Campus;
      16. Actions that violate a Content use policy or similar rules established separately by the Content Provider; and
      17. Actions other than the items above that JV-Campus deems inappropriate.
    2. In the event that (6), or (8) through (16) of the preceding paragraph are applicable to a post made by the member in an area of the Platform Service available for posting, or is there sufficient reason to determine that one is applicable, JV-Campus may delete the relevant post.
    3. In the event that a member’s post, etc. results in an inquiry, complaint, lawsuit, or other dispute by a third party, the member shall resolve that dispute at its own responsibility and expense.
  11. Suspension/Cancellation of User Credentials
    1. In the event that one of the following items becomes applicable to User, JV-Campus may suspend or cancel User’s credentials, delete some or all of User’s data, and take other necessary measures:
      1. It is found that circumstances set forth in Article 3.4.(1) through Article 3.4.(5) exist;
      2. Violation of these Terms of Use;
      3. JV-Campus otherwise determines User to be unsuitable as a User.
    2. JV-Campus shall bear no liability whatsoever for any damage caused by User becoming unable to use the Platform Service as a result of the measures in the preceding paragraph.
  12. Changes, Alteration, etc. of the Platform Service
    1. JV-Campus may cancel or alter provision of the Platform Service in whole or in part or change the name without prior notification to User. User consents to this in advance.
    2. The Content Provider may cancel or change, in whole or in part, Content it provides or plans to provide. User consents to this in advance.
  13. Temporary Interruption of Platform Service
    1. When conducting maintenance of equipment, etc. for the Platform Service, JV-Campus shall provide notification at least two business days in advance of the date maintenance is performed. User gives prior consent to temporary interruption of the Platform Service when maintenance takes place.
    2. JV-Campus may temporarily interrupt the Platform Service without prior notification to User when the circumstances set forth in the following items occur:
      1. Communications become unusable;
      2. Emergency maintenance of equipment, etc. for the Platform Service is conducted;
      3. The Platform Service cannot be provided due to fire, power outage, etc.;
      4. The Platform Service cannot be provided due to a natural disaster such as an earthquake, volcanic eruption, flood, or tsunami.;
      5. The Platform Service cannot be provided due to war, unrest, riot, conflict, labor dispute, etc.; or
      6. JV Campus otherwise determines that temporary interruption of the Platform Service is necessary for operational or technical reasons
  14. Personal Information

    JV-Campus will collect personal information from User and use it based on the JV-Campus Personal Information Protection Policy [posted at https://www.jv-campus.org/en/privacy-policy/]. That Personal Information Protection Policy will be incorporated into these Terms of Use and constitute part of these Terms of Use. By agreeing to these Terms of Use, User also agrees to have the Personal Information Protection Policy applied to it.

  15. Compensation of Damage

    In the event that User causes Damage, etc. to JV-Campus arising from or related to its failure to perform obligations under the Agreement, User shall compensate or indemnify JV-Campus for Damage, etc. based on this Article.

  16. Exemption of Liability
    1. The Platform Service will be provided as JV-Campus is able to provide it on an “as is” basis. JV-Campus makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, regarding the Platform Service (including, but not limited to, warranties related to fitness for a particular purpose, title, marketability, completeness, usability, safety, compatibility, or absence of rights infringements, as well as warranties that the Platform Service will be uninterrupted, free of viruses or other harmful elements, accurate, without error, or trustworthy).
    2. JV-Campus shall not bear any liability whatsoever for damage to User that occurs as a result of use of the Platform Service, irrespective of the reason.
    3. In the event that these Terms of Use become subject to the Consumer Contract Act, the limitation of liability in the preceding paragraph shall not apply. In this case, the scope of JV-Campus’s liability for compensation of damage to User in relation to use of the Platform Service or the Agreement shall be limited to actual and ordinary damage suffered by User for reasons attributable to JV-Campus or as a direct result of JV-Campus’s violation of the Agreement, irrespective of liability for non-performance of obligations, liability for unlawful acts, or other legal cause of action. JV-Campus shall not bear liability for compensation of damage arising from reasons not attributable to JV-Campus, or damage or lost profits, etc. arising from special circumstances irrespective of whether JV-Campus foresaw it.
  17. Assignment of Rights, Obligations, etc.
    1. User may not assign, transfer, cause succession of, make the subject of a security interest, or dispose of in any other way its position as a party to the Agreement or rights and obligations under the Agreement, in whole or in part, without the prior consent of JV-Campus in writing.
    2. JV-Campus may assign (including general succession) its position as a party to the Agreement or rights and obligations under the Agreement, in whole or in part. User consents to this assignment in advance.
  18. Exclusion of Antisocial Forces
    1. User affirms and warrants that it does not fall under the definition of Antisocial Forces, etc. or any of the following items, and will not do so in the future:
      1. Having a relationship in which it can be found that Antisocial Forces, etc. control management;
      2. Having a relationship in which it can be found that Antisocial Forces, etc. are materially involved in management;
      3. Having a relationship in which it can be found that Antisocial Forces, etc. are improperly being used for illicit gains, personally or for a third party, or harming a third party, etc.; or
      4. Having a relationship in which it can be found that there is involvement such as providing funds, etc. or support to Antisocial Forces, etc. despite knowing they are organized crime group members, etc.
    2. User affirms and warrants that actions that fall under the following items will not be taken personally or by using a third party:
      1. Making violent demands;
      2. Making unreasonable demands beyond legal entitlement;
      3. Using intimidating words or actions or violence in relation to transactions;
      4. Damaging the credibility of the other party or obstructing the other party’s business by spreading rumors, using deception, or using force; or
      5. Other actions equivalent to the preceding items
    3. In the event that User breaches this article, JV-Campus may immediately cancel the Agreement without notice or other procedure.
    4. Even in the event that User suffers damage as a result of cancellation pursuant to this article, JV-Campus shall not bear liability for compensation of that damage. JV-Campus may also seek compensation of damage from User for damage it suffers as a result of that cancellation.
  19. Amendment to These Terms of Use
    1. JV-Campus may amend these Terms of Use in the event that it conforms to the general benefit of User or JV-Campus determines it to be reasonable based on consideration of the purpose of the Agreement, necessity of the amendment, suitability of the amended content, etc.
    2. When amending these Terms of Use, JV-Campus shall notify User by posting the details and effective data of the amendment on the Terms of Use page of https://www.jv-campus.org/en/terms-of-use/.
  20. Severability

    In the event that any article, provision, or part thereof of these Terms of Use is held to be void or unenforceable, the remaining articles, provisions, or parts thereof of these Terms of Use shall continue in full force and effect without becoming void or unenforceable.

  21. Language

    The official text of these Terms of Use is in Japanese. Even in the event that translations of these Terms of Use are created in other languages for reference purposes, only the official Japanese text shall have legal effect. Translations in other languages shall have no effect whatsoever.

  22. Exclusive Jurisdiction

    The Tokyo District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance if litigation between User and JV-Campus becomes necessary.

  23. Governing Law

    These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
