Multicultural Co-Learning Activities on the Practice and Improvement of High School Education

Participants will understand the international issue of reconstructing upper secondary education (high school education) as a part of public education where children prepare for their social independence before entering society, and will consider measures for its improvement. To this end, they will conduct fieldwork and participate in classes at a Japanese high school to compare and examine secondary education systems in diverse countries with Japan's system and practices. They will visit an Ibaraki Prefectural High School, participate in an English class and interact with the students. They will also receive lectures from the principal and a teacher leader on the school's challenges and engage in discussions.
