Hokkaido University, founded in 1876, is a comprehensive university with 12 undergraduate and 21 graduate schools, covering almost all areas of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The university has the largest land area among universities in Japan, which includes research farms and forests, and marine research stations, where distinctive field research is conducted. Its main campus in Sapporo is also known as Japan’s most beautiful campus. We offer a wide variety of education programs for international students, such as the Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) which consists of 150+ short courses during summer.
