氣功(Qi-gong); Concept and Practice

In traditional East Asian medicine, Qi (気) is considered as the source of all creation, shaping the body and serving as the fundamental energy source for life activities. Therefore, nurturing the Qi is essential for protecting oneself from illness, and maintaining the health of both mind and body. Qi-gong (気功) is an exercise practiced in traditional medicine and traditinal martial arts to cultivate the Qi of the mind and body. In Part 1, you will learn about the concepts of Qi and Qigong. In Part 2, you will study basic exercises for nurturing Qi. Part 3 will introduce exercises from the traditional Qigong method known as the Eight Pieces of Brocade (Baduanjin, 八段錦).
