- Mathematics education, mathematical perspective and thinking, Problem finding, Problem solving, Dialectics
The online course " Mathematical Thinking VII: How to develop it at Lower Secondary Level through Problem Solving Approach" is part of the SEAMEO School Network Program and is composed by 4 lessons. These 4 videos were produced by CRICED-University of Tsukuba with the direction of professor Masami Isoda and the collaboration of invited guests. The videos are open for all participants. The past five courses (Part I to Part V) focused mainly on Primary School Level. This new course ‘Mathematical Thinking VII’, as well as “Mathematical Thinking VI”, focuses on the Lower Secondary School Level for Problem-Solving Approach. Part VII consists of 4 lessons as follows: Lesson 1. On Challenges from Letter to Algebra; Lesson 2. On Challenges from Proportionality to Proportion and functions; Lesson 3. On Challenges of the Extension of Numbers; and Lesson 4. Task Sequence for Problem Solving Approach with Dialectic. Consecutively, it continues from Part VI for Lower Secondary Level.
