Understanding the IPCC AR6 WG2 - Session 2 — How Humans Can Adapt to a Changing Climate —

In this lecture we will see how humans are adapting to climate change, and how we might continue adapting. These strategies are diverse, ranging from our built environment – flood prevention and protection from rain, coastal protection from sea level rise and mega storms – to our food systems, which need to be adapted to diverse factors including the changing geographic range of plants and animals. We will see how Japanese companies are developing technologies to help us adapt. From disaster-resilient community energy systems like microgrid, to smart homes that can continue warming and cooling their inhabitants during a wide-area power outage.
