Educational Practices to Promote Inquiry-Based Learning: Using IB Teaching Methods

The online course " Educational Practices to Promote Inquiry-Based Learning: Using IB Teaching Methods" is part of the SEAMEO School Network Program and is composed by 4 lessons. These 4 videos were produced by CRICED-University of Tsukuba with the direction of Ms Umetsu Shizuko and the collaboration of invited guests. The videos are open for all the participants with English subtitles. In this course, we will explore different aspects of the IB, such as Theory of Knowledge and see how these aspects lead to 21st century skills. We will also examine how 21st century skills, such as critical thinking skills, can be developed in students by experiencing the various activities provided in the lectures, and by participating in the discussions prompted by the lecturers. This course consists of four lessons as follows: Lesson 1. Inquiry-Based Learning; Lesson 2. Theory of Knowledge; Lesson 3. Critical Thinking through Art; and Lesson 4. Practices to Enhance Thinking Skills.
