【SIT Lab Vol.11】Decarbonized society will be created by microorganisms.

“SIT Lab” is a channel that introduces laboratories at Shibaura Institute of Technology (Tokyo, Japan), which has diverse research fields.
In the 11th lecture, Professor Mitsuo Yamashita, Department of Applied Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, will talk about a decarbonized society created by microorganisms that decompose disposable diapers.
The incineration of garbage generates carbon dioxide. How about letting microorganisms break down the waste instead of burning it?
The challenge of microbial decomposition is focused on disposable diapers, which continue to increase with the aging of society.
