In this lecture, Norihiko Saito, Professor of Japanese Painting, Department of Painting, School of Fine Arts Tokyo University of the Arts, will talk about Japanese traditional painting, “Nihonga,” introducing his own creation techniques as an artist, as well as the materials and tools unique to Nihonga and the way of living in harmony with nature and the people living in communities surrounding these materials. This lecture will provide participants with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of coexistence with nature through art and culture.
