Student Voices_Tohoku University STEM Summer Program (TSSP)
The Tohoku University STEM Summer Program (TSSP) is a four-week foundational STEM course for 1st and 2nd year students from our strategic overseas partner universities. Students participate in Tohoku University classes and lab work on advanced STEM topics, tour research departments, conduct fieldwork including visits to areas affected by the 2011 tsunami, and study the Japanese language and culture. The program offers substantial experiences, such as a lecture on spintronics by former TU president Hideo Ohno and a visit to the NanoTerasu Next Generation Synchrotron Radiation Facility, which just opened in April 2024. In this video, students from UK partner universities who participated in TSSP in 2024 will tell you about the advantages of the program and aspects of Sendai they enjoyed. Thank you for watching. *Program contents are subject to change.
