Special lecture in 2017 “Toward the Mysteries of Sleep”

We still cannot answer such simple questions as "Why do we all have to sleep?" and "What is 'sleepiness' in the first place?" Based on his experiences of cutting-edge research in both Japan and the United States, Yanagisawa will introduce studies on the fundamental mechanism of sleep/wakefulness currently ongoing at the University of Tsukuba.

    「なぜ眠らなければならないのか?」「そもそも眠気とはなにか?」といった誰もが抱く疑問はいまだに解明されていない。日米両国で最先端の研究を行ってきた経験を踏まえ、現在筑波大学で行っている睡眠・覚醒の根本的メカニズムの解明に関する研究について紹介する。
