Multicultural Collaborative Learning to Study Agriculture in Japan

As part of an interdepartmental student exchange agreement with National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, a two-week training program is planned for students from Chung Hsing University. During the first half of the program, the students will participate in training at Tokyo University of Agriculture, while in the second half they will take part in experiential learning activities at the College of Agro-Biological Resource Sciences, University of Tsukuba; T-PIRC; the Tsukuba Botanical Garden of the National Museum of Nature and Science; a dairy manufacturing company; and the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) (tentative), through lectures and facility visits. Through participation in this program, Taiwanese students are expected to gain an understanding of cutting-edge biological resource science research, agricultural technologies, and the current situation and challenges of temperate agriculture in Japan.
