Food Diversity Seminar

At this seminar, we invited a specialist knowledgeable about diverse food cultures, such as vegetarianism, veganism, and halal practices. He explained clearly and simply what these food cultures are and how we can enjoy meals together with people who have different religions or dietary principles. He emphasized that instead of focusing only on differences, it is important to look for common ground. After the lecture, students participated in group discussions at each table. Vegetarian students and Muslim students shared their experiences related to eating in Japan. It allowed all the participants to deepen their understanding of each other's food cultures.
