Understanding Ecosystem Services in Kushiro Wetlands

Learning Outcome: Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem services provided by the Kushiro Wetlands. They will explore the various types of ecosystem services and recognize the unique characteristics of wetlands. Through insights from Kushiro Public University (KPU) and the Kushiro International Wetland Center (KIWC), students will grasp the significance of international conventions like the Ramsar Convention and appreciate the importance of Kushiro's designation as a national park. Furthermore, students will comprehend the application of bioregionalism in understanding ecosystems beyond national borders.
