Ecosystem Services in Action: Human Well-being and Kushiro Wetlands

Students will witness ecosystem services in action, and understand the interconnection between human well-being and wetlands, acknowledge positive impacts, recognize challenges like unsustainable natural resource usage and learn about the concept of “overshooting.” Students will gain insights on the importance of preserving ecosystem services in the context of tourism and local communities, and see diverse perspectives from stakeholders to empower students to contribute to Kushiro Wetlands conservation and envision the future of the Kushiro Wetlands.
