AgriBridge Initiative: International PBL Program on Plant Health and Sustainable Agriculture

This program addresses key challenges in sustainable agriculture, climate change, pesticide dependence, and increasing pest and disease outbreaks, in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. Using microbiological and plant protection approaches, participants will identify local agricultural problems and explore practical solutions. Students will form interdisciplinary mixed teams and define research questions based on real pest and disease issues observed in local farming systems. Through hands-on experimental training including identification of plant pathogens and insect pests, and exploration of antagonistic microorganisms and natural enemies, students will experience the full problem-based learning (PBL) cycle: hypothesis formulation, experimental validation, and proposal of integrated management strategies. On the final day, students will present their findings and proposed solutions in English at a closing symposium.
