【STEM Careers Spotlight】Supporting Regional Industries Through Technology

The Saitama Industrial Technology Center (SAITEC) supports local small and medium-sized enterprises through technical consultation, research and development, and commercialization support. Operating from its two locations, the Kawaguchi Headquarters and the Northern Laboratory, SAITEC helps businesses solve technical challenges and create new opportunities for innovation. At the Northern Laboratory, researchers are conducting studies on lactic acid bacteria collected in Saitama Prefecture, exploring their characteristics and potential applications in the food industry. While contributing their expertise to regional industrial development, researchers also benefit from a supportive work environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance. Through their experiences, they encourage high school students and aspiring scientists and engineers to pursue their interests with confidence, embrace new challenges, and never give up on what inspires them.
