NTU Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering's Professor Chun-Yi Lee leads NTU students to global victory at the Supercomputing Cluster Competition

Making their debut appearance at the 2025 International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis (SC25), the National Taiwan University (NTU) team secured the championship in the Student Cluster Competition (SCC), outperforming seven top global universities. Backed by the National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) and industry partners such as GIGABYTE, AMD, and NVIDIA, the team excelled in both traditional HPC and AI benchmarks—achieving the highest scores in HPL and MLPerf—while demonstrating superior system stability and adaptability in complex simulations under strict power constraints. This victory, rooted in foundations laid by the domestic HiPAC competition and led by Professor Chun-Yi Lee, highlights the success of Taiwan’s industry-academia collaboration and its rising competitiveness in high-performance computing and AI technology.
