NTU Ranks No. 1 Again in 2025 CommonWealth Excellence in University Social Responsibility

National Taiwan University (NTU) secured first place in the “Public General Large University” category at the 2025 CommonWealth USR University Citizen Awards, marking its fifth time receiving this honor. Beyond excelling in governance, teaching, and environmental metrics, NTU also won the top “Sustainability Project” award for its “Positive Interpersonal & Life Orientation Training (PILOT)” curriculum, developed by the CTBC Center for Child and Family Resilience. Vice President Ding Shih-Torng accepted the award, emphasizing that sustainability at NTU has evolved from a single initiative into a deeply ingrained culture practiced collectively from the top down. Citing student-focused programs like the “International NGO Talent School” and “NTU Beyond Borders,” he reaffirmed the university’s commitment to “internalizing campus sustainability and expanding social impact,” urging faculty and students to integrate sustainable perspectives into their professional lives to drive positive societal change.
