Both automatic issuance linked to completion of a JV-Campus course and bulk issuance without a course are supported. Issuance is completed on JV-Campus servers, in a design that stores no personal information externally. Each institution operates its badges as the issuer through its own administrative dashboard.
FOR LEARNERS
Learners
A wallet that keeps all the badges you have earned in one place, and an ePortfolio you can share externally for study abroad, internships, and job hunting, are provided free of charge. Sharing requires a password, and you can select which information appears and create several public pages, so the sharing environment stays secure.

Trusted learning outcomes from issuers verified as legal entities
Issuing digital badges on JV-Campus requires an organization-level agreement between JV-Campus and the university, company, or organization concerned.
Being digital does not by itself create trust in a credential.
JV-Campus is a national-policy-level online education platform that serves as the international gateway to Japanese higher education as a whole, and it provides its own digital badge issuance system, designed for issuance by academia.
Combining the credibility of the issuer with clear information about the learning outcomes produces credentials that are easy to explain in contexts such as further education, study abroad, internships, employment, and talent development.

Badge Issuance
An internationally certified digital badge (Open Badges 2.0 / 3.0) issuance system
Built on a system certified by the 1EdTech Consortium and optimized for higher education institutions. Its design is integrated with the JV-Campus system, so it can be used securely and smoothly.

Award digital badges in step with course completion on the JV-Campus learning management system (LMS). Issuance settings are completed in the administrative dashboard.

JMICRO GUIDELINE COMPLIANT
An input form compliant with the guidelines of the Japan Micro-credential Organization (JMICRO)
The metadata settings come with built-in input guidance based on the Guidelines for Issuing Micro-credentials Digitally established by the Japan Micro-credential Organization. It prevents required fields from being missed and keeps issuance in line with the guidelines.

From within JV-Campus, course-linked badge issuance and management and the learner’s badge wallet all run seamlessly. Each institution’s administrative functions also support bulk issuance without a course. A purpose-built assisted form comes as standard, so badge metadata can be registered accurately in line with the guidelines of the Japan Micro-credential Organization.

A PDF Certificate of Completion Carrying a QR Code to the Badge Wallet
Users can download a PDF certificate of completion carrying a QR code to the digital badge straight from the badge sharing function, with no further procedure. With future release in view, a proof of concept for applying an eSeal to the PDF certificate has been completed (GMO GlobalSign K.K. press release), and work on strengthening resistance to tampering continues.

An ePortfolio that brings together the badges you have earned, your learning history, and your profile. It is available to JV-Campus users free of charge.
