First Year Seminar (Introduction to Service Learning) Final Presentation 2025

This course asks students to consider what kinds of services are truly necessary for international students who come to Japan through our university’s study abroad program. Today, many services can be provided without human involvement through the Internet, generative AI, and various automated machines, and the shift toward unmanned services is accelerating. In this context, students work in teams of three to seriously and creatively plan services that genuinely require human involvement for international students after their arrival in Japan. Through two rounds of English presentations delivered directly to international students, the proposed services are evaluated by the students themselves: Are these services truly necessary? Are automated or unmanned services sufficient? Or are they simply unnecessary “over-help”? This video presents the final presentations from the course.
