1: General Introduction - Social implementation of renewable enaergy for carbon neutral communities

To avoid the global warming crisis, the use of fossil resources, coal, petroleum, and natural gas, must be reduced. The fossil resources are consumed for energy production of electricity and gas, and the material production of commodity chemicals. The energy production should be replaced with usage of renewable energy, solar, wind, and geothermal energies. Biomass resources are expected for replacement of fossil resources as organo-based materials. Much further research and development are required all over the world.

Content/学習内容

  • Current situations of energy consumption, CO2 emission and climate change will be lectured.  The increase of energy consumption all over the world causes the dramatic increase of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere which brings about global warming.  It should be noticed that other factors, COVID-19 and the invasion of Ukraine strongly affect the situations.  This section will be discussed how we have to deal with the situations.
