Using Intersectionality to understand current challenges in household energy flexibility

7/16/2025 EDI Online Lecture (Prof. Jennifer Elise Branlat) Outline : Flexible energy use in households (demand-side management or DSM) is a critical response to the ongoing energy crises and the more extensive integration of renewable energy into energy production. Yet, the space of technology development continues to be dominated by quantitative modelling and the assumption that users will simply ‘adapt’ to constraints and opportunities. How can we understand more about the involvement of households and actual energy users?
