1. SOGI diverse people and Mental Health Challenges in Japan: Implication from intersectional perspectives 2. Sexual Pasts and Digital Futures: LGBTQIA Historical Projects and Community
1. While social awareness of SOGI diversity is increasing, individuals within the community frequently face minority stress in their daily lives, with stigma and traumatic experiences often contributing to mental health problems. In this short presentation, drawing on interviews with LGBTQ+ individuals who have experienced mental health challenges, we will explore the unique risks and resilience specific to sexual minorities in Japan. Additionally, we will seek to understand these experiences through an intersectional lens, moving beyond the categorical understanding of LGBTQ+ identities. / Chieko Kibe Ph.D. (Institute for Global Leadership, Ochanomizu University) 2.Outline ・Current situation in Japan ・Qualitative study ・Results of the interview ・Intervention study ・Preliminary findings ・Implication from an intersectional perspective / Lisa Arellano (Associate Director of Research, Mills Institute Co-editor, Queer Pasts Director, Quist)
